To prepare children to celebrate Reconciliation for the first time, we…
…teach children to see themselves in the light of God’s love. This strengthens their self-esteem and at the same time makes it easier to accept their personal limitations and shortcomings.
…help children discover that Jesus shows us the way to the true happiness God wants for us.
…encourage children to develop simple habits that will sustain their spiritual life, while strengthening their character.
…gradually enable children to acquire a more precise sense of right and wrong and to make their own moral decisions.
…instill in children a deep trust in the infinite love of God, who always forgives us.
Participants for First Reconciliation are generally around the age of 7-8 years. This program will take place weekly during the months of October and November. The celebration of First Reconciliation will take place in Advent (December).
Parents wishing to enroll their child for the First Reconciliation should contact the Parish Office in the Fall.
