Looking for Young Adults (ideal for University Students) to give a few hours a couple of times a month to be a part of our Retreat Team which facilitates 8-10 Retreat Days at St. Patrick’s Church on weekdays.  This opportunity for peer mentorship, leadership development and small group facilitation is ideal for anyone looking at exploring and sharing their faith, their love of Social Justice, and the opportunity to gain new skills.  We also invite ADULTS (ideal for retirees) to give a few hours a couple of times a month to provide program support and assistance in the kitchen for these retreat days!  The next round of retreats begin in January 2012.  To find out more, contact Sr. Eileen Power CND  (epower@cnd-m.org)

An opportunity to celebrate and learn about the ground breaking period of the Church marked by renewal and the movement of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church and how it has impacted the people of God for today.  This event is great for those who remember the changes, or for our young people who only read about it in history books!  This will be a 6 evening video reflection series with facilitated input, discussion and reflection.  (6 Consecutive Thursdays  from February 2 – March 8).  These sessions will take place at St. Patrick’s Church German Hall– 131 McCaul Street, Toronto

February 2: Introduction - Inspiration of Pope John XXIII, Renewal of the Liturgy

February 9: Growth within the Church – Vatican II under Pope Paul VI, Role of Women in the Church and Enculturation

February 16:  Human Dignity – Solidarity with the Poor, Human Rights and Religious Freedom

February 23:  The Church’s Place in the World – Ecumenism, Interreligious Dialogue

March 1:  The Church as Citizen – Social Action, Social Justice

Newly formed Support group for men and women who live with the realities of depression, anxiety and other related conditions invite interested persons to join us on Monday January 30^th at 5:30pm at St. Patrick’s Church Hall.

World Day of Prayer

Thursday February 2^nd the Church celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life.  In the Archdiocese of Toronto we are blessed to have living and serving among us more than 1,050 religious men and women of over 100 different religious congregations.  This World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank God for the gifts of these religious sisters, brothers and priests and to pray for God’s blessing upon them in their efforts to faithfully live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience.  All are welcome to a special Mass next Sunday, January 29 at 3:00pm. At St. Paul’s Basilica to celebrate with and pray for these men and women religious who are such a vital and important part of the life and ministry of the Church in our Archdiocese.

We were happy to welcome those who attended at such short notice. We plan to meet twice monthly on Mondays at 5.30pm. Details to follow in the bulletin.

Feast Day of Senor Sto. Nino

St. Patrick’s Senior’s Club invites you to celebrate Sto. Nino on Saturday January 28^th at St. Patrick’s Church. Mass will begin at 12:00pm noon followed by a Potluck lunch in the Parish Hall.
